Earth Day webcast with Eimear Palmer

Today is Earth Day. First held on 22 April 1970, Earth Day is now recognised around the the world, with action and events held in more than 193 countries coordinated by EARTHDAY.org.

At ICG, we have long recognised the importance of our impact on society and the environment, and Eimear Palmer, Managing Director and Responsible Investing Officer, leads our efforts to exceed expectations and make consistent progress in improving the future for our society. ESG issues as a whole, and environmental issues in particular, can be an important source of investment opportunity as well as investment risk.

To mark Earth Day this year, Eimear Palmer moderated a panel discussion on this year’s theme – “Restore Our Earth” – with contributions from important external panellists:

  • John Keane – SolarAid (an international development charity which is working to create a sustainable market for solar lights in Africa)
  • Libby Peake – Green Alliance (an independent think tank and charity focused on ambitious leadership for the environment)
  • Pamela Mulcahy – Marston Holdings, an ICG portfolio company (the UK’s largest transportation and enforcement services company)

Available to watch now, the webcast includes discussions on the urgency of the climate transition, where the responsibility lies, and what needs to be done to mitigate climate change.
