ICG builds out Special Situations Investment Team

Appointment of Lionel Laurant

Intermediate Capital Group (ICG) is pleased to announce the appointment of Lionel Laurant as a Managing Director, Co-Head of Special Situations and Co-Portfolio Manager for Recovery Fund II.

Lionel previously worked at PIMCO, where he founded and ran the European Credit Opportunities platform and was co-chair of that investment committee. In his four years at PIMCO, Lionel led a number of investments in distressed and special situations assets, investing across the capital structure and in a broad range of European jurisdictions.

Prior to PIMCO, Lionel was a Managing Director at Bayside Capital for seven years. At Bayside, Lionel played a key role in establishing the European investment platform. Prior to Bayside, Lionel spent time at Barclays Capital, Bank of America and Morgan Stanley in a range of special situations, private equity and investment banking roles. Lionel is a Belgian national and speaks English, French and Spanish. He holds master’s degrees in political economy and International Affairs from the London School of Economics and the University of Paris-Dauphine, respectively, and a BSc in Economics from the University of Toulouse.
